Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals
on TradePesa

M-Pesa works great if you're in Kenya - but TradePesa is open to traders everywhere. Fund your account or cash out using USDC on the Solana network, no bank or M-Pesa account required.

How Crypto Funding Works

TradePesa uses USDC - a stablecoin always worth $1, unlike volatile coins like Bitcoin - on the Solana blockchain, chosen for its low fees and fast confirmations.

📥

Deposits are automatic

You get a personal Solana address unique to your account. Send USDC there from any exchange or wallet, and K$Coin is credited automatically - usually within a couple of minutes. No form, no waiting on approval.

📤

Withdrawals are admin-reviewed

Request a withdrawal to any Solana wallet address you control. An admin reviews it, same as an M-Pesa withdrawal, then the USDC is sent on-chain - a safety step, since crypto sends can't be reversed.

New to Crypto? Here's Exactly What to Do

You don't need any crypto experience to use this. Here's the whole process, start to finish.

To deposit:

Get some USDC

If you don't already hold crypto, use an exchange like Binance. Buy with your local currency directly, or through P2P trading (buying from another person using M-Pesa or a bank transfer). If you end up with a different coin - USDT, SOL, etc. - use the exchange's Convert feature to swap it into USDC.

Grab your TradePesa deposit address

On the Deposit Money page, select Crypto - USDC on Solana. Your personal address loads automatically - it's permanently yours, so you only ever need to find it once.

Send it, on the Solana network

From the exchange, tap Send, then choose Withdraw Asset (not "Send to [Exchange] User", "Pay", or "P2P Trading" - those never leave the exchange). Select USDC, paste the address, and make sure the network is set to Solana specifically - not Ethereum, not BNB Chain, not Polygon. This is the one step that matters most.

Wait a couple of minutes

Once the transfer confirms on-chain, TradePesa detects it and credits your K$Coin balance automatically. Nothing else to do.

To withdraw:

Get a receiving address

On your exchange, look for "Deposit Asset" (not P2P, not an internal transfer option) under USDC, network Solana, and copy the address it gives you. Or use a Solana wallet app like Phantom.

Submit the request on TradePesa

On the Withdraw Money page, choose Crypto (USDC), enter the amount, and paste that address. Double-check it before submitting - crypto sends cannot be reversed.

Wait for admin review

Same safety step as M-Pesa withdrawals. Once approved, the USDC is sent on-chain and typically arrives within a couple of minutes.

The one mistake that actually loses money: sending on the wrong network. USDC exists on Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, BNB Chain, and others - they are not interchangeable. TradePesa's address only works for Solana-network USDC. Always confirm the network before you hit confirm.

Crypto vs M-Pesa

Two different ways to move money in and out of TradePesa - use whichever fits where you are.

What This Doesn't Do

Straight talk before you send anything.

  • It doesn't undo mistakes. Wrong address, wrong network, wrong amount - none of it can be reversed once sent, on either side of a transfer.
  • Deposits are automatic; withdrawals aren't instant. The admin-review step on withdrawals exists deliberately, as a fraud/error safeguard - the same reason M-Pesa withdrawals work the same way.
  • It's specifically USDC on Solana. Sending Bitcoin, Ethereum-network USDC, or any other asset/network to a TradePesa crypto address will not be credited and cannot be recovered by TradePesa.
  • Exchange minimums are outside TradePesa's control. Whatever minimum withdrawal amount your exchange enforces has nothing to do with TradePesa - check it there before sending.

Common Questions

How do I deposit crypto into TradePesa?
On the Deposit Money page, choose "Crypto - USDC on Solana." You'll get a personal Solana address unique to your account. Send USDC to it from any exchange or wallet, making sure the network is set to Solana. K$Coin is credited automatically, usually within a couple of minutes - no form, no admin review needed for deposits.
How do I withdraw crypto from TradePesa?
On the Withdraw Money page, choose Crypto (USDC), enter the K$Coin amount, and paste the Solana wallet address you want the USDC sent to. Unlike deposits, withdrawals go through an admin review first before the USDC is actually sent - the same safety step M-Pesa withdrawals already use.
What is USDC, and why does TradePesa use it?
USDC is a stablecoin - always worth $1 USD, unlike volatile coins such as Bitcoin or SOL. TradePesa uses it so depositing or withdrawing crypto doesn't expose you to price swings the way sending a volatile coin would.
Why do I have to pick a "network" when sending USDC?
USDC exists on several blockchains - Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, BNB Chain, and more each have their own version. TradePesa's deposit address only works on Solana. Sending on any other network to that same address means the funds don't arrive and are effectively unrecoverable. Always confirm Solana is selected before sending.
I don't own any crypto - how do I even get USDC?
Most exchanges let you buy crypto with local currency directly, or through P2P trading (buying from another person using M-Pesa or a bank transfer). If you end up holding a different coin like USDT or SOL, use the exchange's Convert feature to swap it into USDC before sending it to TradePesa.
Is there a minimum amount for crypto deposits or withdrawals?
TradePesa has no minimum deposit - any amount that arrives gets credited. Withdrawals share the same platform-wide minimum as other methods (roughly $1 in K$Coin terms). Separately, whatever exchange you're sending from often enforces its own minimum withdrawal amount - that's unrelated to TradePesa and worth checking there first.
How long does a crypto deposit or withdrawal take?
Deposits are typically credited within a couple of minutes of the on-chain transfer confirming, with no manual step. Withdrawals go through admin review first, so timing depends on that rather than blockchain speed.
