Most tokens on TradePesa trade completely freely once launched - the creator has no more control over them than anyone else. "Creator Controlled" is an optional switch that changes that: it hands the creator five real powers over their own token, for creators who want to actively manage a community rather than just launch and walk away.

What it actually is

When creating a token, checking the "Creator Controlled" box is a one-time choice made at creation - there's no switching a token to Creator Controlled later, and no turning it off once it's on. You can have at most one Creator Controlled token and two normal tokens at a time. Skip the box, and your token just trades normally with no special powers for you as the creator.

The five powers

1. Pause and resume buying or selling. Instantly, either side independently. Everyone sees a clear "paused" badge, and an attempted trade gets an explanation instead of silently failing.
2. Restrict specific countries. Checked two independent ways - a trader's profile country and their current IP location - blocked if either matches. Anyone who already holds the token can still sell and exit; a restriction never traps existing holders.
3. Token chat. A live chat attached to the token where holders can talk to each other, with the creator or a moderator able to pin announcements and remove messages.
4. Holder voting. The creator can post a proposal; only current holders vote, weighted by how much they hold. It's advisory only - a signal for the creator to act on, not something that executes automatically.
5. Appoint up to 3 moderators. Moderators share the pause/resume and chat-moderation powers, but only the creator can set regional restrictions, create proposals, or appoint/remove moderators.

What it doesn't do

None of these powers touch anyone's funds or balances - they only ever affect trading status, region rules, chat, and proposals. A passed vote doesn't execute anything by itself. And a region restriction only ever blocks new buying; anyone who already holds the token keeps the right to sell and exit no matter what.
